                          Youth and Philanthropy Initiative

We were asked by a group from the Braes High School if they could nominate Keep Ticking as their chosen charity to take part in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative. This is an international programme managed, and principally funded, in Scotland by the Wood Foundation based in Aberdeen.

The original applications are reduced to 20/30 teams and then the final 6 groups are judged on a presentation about their chosen charity. We were delighted to hear that the Braes group had won and not just for the £3000 boost to our funds, which is very welcome, but also the achievement for the Braes pupils.

So many thanks and well done to:

RESULTS OF THE SOCIAL ACTIVITIES SURVEY

We are pleased to advise thatwe had 33 Social Activities voting papers returned by members.

The full results are available in the table below.

The favourite summer activity was for a sail either on one of the Scottish Lochs or on the Union Canal with 24 and 23 votes respectively.

The favourite year round activity was for a Lunch Club to meet roughly 6 times per year with 21 votes.  A suggestion was made for a walk prior to the lunch.

The favourite trips were to the Museum of Flight in East Lothian or the Military Tato with 17 votes each.

The committee will be discussing these results and will be making all members aware of any organised forthcoming events with dates, times and approximate costs.

Members should be aware that some activities may have limits on numbers that can be accommodated and if this is the case, places will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis.
